Our promise of transparency

Dealspottedtoday believes in being open with you. This page explains how our website earns money, and how that does and does not affect what we publish.

We participate in affiliate marketing

Dealspottedtoday participates in affiliate marketing programs with retailers and affiliate networks, including Amazon. When you click a coupon, deal or product link on our website and make a qualifying purchase, the retailer may pay us a small commission.

You will find affiliate links on coupon and deal buttons, store pages, product picks, buying guides and in our newsletter. Unless a link is clearly marked otherwise, please assume it may be an affiliate link.

It does not cost you anything extra

Using our coupons and links never increases the price you pay. The commission comes from the retailer’s marketing budget, not from you. In many cases, our coupons and deals help you pay less than you would by shopping directly.

Amazon Associates

Dealspottedtoday is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Our editorial independence

We choose coupons, deals and guides based on the value they offer to shoppers, not on which retailer pays the highest commission. Being an affiliate partner does not guarantee a store a better placement or a more positive review on our website. If a deal is not good for our readers, we do not publish it.

We do not accept payment to change the facts in a guide, to hide a product’s drawbacks or to guarantee a positive mention. If we ever publish sponsored content, we will label it clearly.

You should also know that we can only earn commission from retailers that have an affiliate program with us or with a network we use. So the stores and products on our website are naturally ones we can link to through such programs, and different retailers pay different rates. Our guides are not a complete survey of the market, and you may find other good options elsewhere.

Coupons and codes

When you use a code from our website, or click through to a retailer from a deal, we may earn a commission if you make a qualifying purchase. Retailers control their own offers, so codes can expire, stop working or be limited to certain products or customers. We cannot guarantee that any code will work, so please read the offer terms and check the final price at checkout. If a code does not work, tell us through our Contact page.

Some retailers show codes that only work through tracked links. In that case, you may need to click our link in the same browser session before you check out.

Cookies and tracking

Affiliate tracking usually works through cookies. When you click one of our links, the retailer or network may place a cookie on your device so a later purchase can be linked to us. These cookies are controlled by the retailer or network under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but then a purchase may not be credited to us. Why we do this

Affiliate commissions are the main way Dealspottedtoday stays free for every user. They help pay for the time we spend finding coupons, checking deals and writing shopping guides, at no cost to you.

Your choice

You never have to use our links. You can always go straight to a retailer’s website, and we simply will not earn a commission. We would just appreciate it if you checked our coupons first, since a working code can save you money.

Third-party websites

When you click an affiliate link, you leave Dealspottedtoday and go to a website we do not own or control. We are not responsible for the products, prices, availability, customer service or privacy practices of the retailers we link to. Any purchase is a transaction between you and the retailer. Following the rules

We follow the advertising and endorsement rules where our readers live. In the United States, this includes the Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), which require us to clearly disclose material connections such as affiliate relationships. We follow comparable guidance in the UK, Canada and Australia, and we place a short affiliate notice on our pages so our disclosures are easy to notice.
